Board-to-board connectors provide reliable plug-gable connections between printed circuit boards (PCB). Board-to-board connectors have special advantages because they can easily replace and upgrade PCB. Although there are many configurations to choose from, all board-to-board connectors work under the basic premise of mating male pins and sockets.
Commonly used board-to-board connector types can be divided into: fine-pitch board-to-board connectors, SMT board-to-board connectors, right-angle board-to-board connectors and spring-loaded board-to-board connectors.
1. Fine pitch board-to-board connector
Fine-pitch board-to-board connectors are ideal for electronic applications where space is extremely limited. In addition, the fine-pitch board-to-board connector provides a low mating height, a narrow body, and is easy to fit and assemble.
2. SMT board to board connector
The SMT board-to-board connector allows PC boards with only surface mount components to be connected quickly and reliably. In addition, SMT board-to-board connectors do not require drilling and can be reflow soldered with other surface mount components.
3. Right angle board-to-board connector
Right-angle board-to-board connectors, as their name implies, allow right-angle connections, allowing you to connect vertical and horizontal PCB without changing their orientation.
4. Spring board to board connector
The spring board-to-board connector contains springs, which can achieve a safe connection even if the spacing between the plates fluctuates. Spring-loaded board-to-board connectors are ideal for applications such as portable devices that withstand continuous motion and vibration.
